Stonali is a Portuguese atelier specializing in bespoke mineral wall surfaces for luxury interiors and architectural projects.

2. Scope & Services

We create custom mineral wall surfaces using artisanal lime-based stucco and natural minerals. Each project is unique and site-specific. Our services include:

  • Initial consultation and project assessment
  • Visual simulation based on your space
  • Physical material samples
  • Design and formulation of bespoke mineral surfaces
  • On-site installation or coordination with trusted installation partners

These Terms apply to all inquiries, consultations, proposals, and commissioned projects.

3. How Our Process Works

Inquiry: You submit a project inquiry via our website contact form or email

Consultation: We discuss your vision, space requirements, timeline, and budget

Proposal: We provide a detailed written proposal including scope of work, materials, timeline, and pricing

Agreement: Upon your acceptance, a formal project contract is signed by both parties

Execution: We craft and install your surface according to the agreed specifications

4. Pricing, Quotations & Payment

All projects are quoted individually based on:

  • Surface area and complexity
  • Materials and finishes selected
  • Location and site conditions
  • Installation requirements

Standard payment terms (unless otherwise agreed in writing):

  • 50% deposit upon contract signing
  • 50% final payment upon project completion and client approval

Prices are quoted in Euros (EUR) and are valid for 30 days from the proposal date. Payment methods accepted: bank transfer, cash (subject to legal limits).

5. Client Responsibilities

To ensure successful project delivery, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about the site, surface conditions, and access
  • Ensuring surfaces are properly prepared according to our specifications (clean, dry, structurally sound)
  • Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other trades as needed
  • Providing site access during agreed working hours
  • Obtaining any necessary permits or approvals from property owners, condominium boards, or authorities

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in project delays or additional costs.

6. Timeline & Delays

We provide estimated timelines in each proposal. Actual timelines depend on:

  • Project complexity and size
  • Material preparation time
  • Site readiness and access
  • Weather conditions (if applicable)

We are not liable for delays caused by force majeure, client-caused delays, third-party contractors, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

7. Samples & Approvals

We provide physical samples and/or visual simulations before work begins. Once you approve these samples, we proceed based on that approval. Natural variations in mineral materials are inherent and contribute to the uniqueness of each surface.

8. Intellectual Property & Portfolio Rights

All designs, formulations, techniques, and proprietary methods are the exclusive intellectual property of Afortexpansão Unipessoal Lda / Stonali.

We retain the right to:

  • Photograph completed projects for portfolio, marketing, and publication use
  • Share images and details on our website, social media, and press materials

If you require confidentiality or wish to restrict use of project images, this must be agreed in writing before the contract is signed.

9. Quality Guarantee & Warranty

We guarantee the quality of our materials and craftsmanship. Our lime-based surfaces are designed to last for generations when properly maintained.

Standard Warranty:

  • Materials and workmanship: 2 years from completion
  • Surface integrity (no cracking, peeling, or detachment): 5 years from completion

Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by improper maintenance, cleaning with harsh chemicals, or physical impact
  • Changes to the substrate or building structure after installation
  • Normal aging, patina development, or natural variations (which are part of the material's beauty)

Specific warranty terms are detailed in each project contract.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Portuguese law, Afortexpansão Unipessoal Lda / Stonali is not liable for:

  • Damage caused by improper surface preparation by third parties
  • Delays or issues caused by other contractors, site conditions, or client decisions
  • Subjective dissatisfaction with aesthetic outcomes after approval of samples and simulations
  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental damages

Our total liability under any project contract shall not exceed the total contract value paid by the client.

11. Cancellation & Termination

By Client:

You may cancel at any time before work begins with no penalty (deposit refunded minus administrative costs). Once work has started, you are responsible for all costs incurred, materials purchased, and labor completed to that point.

By Stonali:

We reserve the right to terminate a project if:

  • Payment terms are not met
  • Site access or conditions are not as agreed
  • Client responsibilities are not fulfilled
